F.A.Q.
- What is Parenting Arizona?
We are a statewide non-profit organization who's aim is strengthening
the family and the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
- What do we do at Parenting Arizona?
Parenting Arizona provides a wide variety of services on a continuing
basis. These include parent educational classes which provide
sessions for both parents and children of all ages; specialized
programs meeting the needs of teenage parents; children in foster
care as well as parent aide in-home parenting services; culturally
sensitive services; and in some counties there are model and/or
pilot projects which accommodate need of the local community.
Programs vary from county to county. Contact your nearest PA office
for further information.
- What is the age range of the children the parents represent?
They are minor children from birth to 18 years of age.
- Is there a charge for Parenting Arizona services?
There is never a charge for our community based services, but
there can be a minimum charge for items such as text books.
- Does Parenting Arizona provide child care in relationship
to the services they offer?
Yes. In most situations Parenting Arizona arranges for free child
care during meeting times.
- Do you maintain confidentiality in your program?
Personal information is to remain confidential unless a parent
or child is in danger of harm, and then staff or a volunteer will
assist them in getting the needed help.
- Is Parenting Arizona only a program for parents who abuse
their children?
One of the primary purposes of PA is prevention and support of
the family. Individuals do not have to reach the point of abuse
before seeking help in developing their family. However, we certainly
welcome families if abuse has occurred or has been identified
and they would like to stop. We are available to help families
break the generational cycle of abuse.
- Can I volunteer to help PA in the fight against child abuse?
You bet! Parenting Arizona truly appreciate all of its' support
from volunteers. Please contact your nearest PA office.
