PA Flagstaff Based Programs

In-Home and Community Based Services

Parenting Arizona serves families through the Parent Connection program. The Parent Connection program promotes health, optimal development, and school readiness for children under the age of 5.

In-home and community based components of the Parent Connection program are designed to teach child development, child health, effective parenting techniques, and to provide families a link to community resources. With Parent Connection, PA strives to teach families how to optimize interactions and to learn about positive and nurturing parenting methods.

Quarterly socials are implemented to help parents obtain positive sources of support and cultivate a bond with their community.

Community Based Parent Education

Parent education classes are offered throughout the state in the communities where our clients live. The classes are always taught with evidence based materials that have been proven effective.

At times the entire family, including children, adolescents, teens, extended family members, and adoptive and foster parents are invited to attend.

The parent education classes can be life changing for the members as they learn positive and collaborative methods to best deal with their children and parents.

School Based Services

Parenting Arizona staff advocates for families and children to strengthen their ability to provide a safe and nurturing environment within their home, school and community.

Parenting Arizona operates 4 family resource centers for students and their families attending Leupp Public School, Kinsey, Marshall and Hozo de Puento and Schools in Flagstaff.

Services include home visiting, community resource and referral, parenting education and family enrichment programs, life skills training and food and clothing banks.

Cooperative Parenting Through Divorce

Parenting Arizona collaborates with Coconino County Superior Court to provide parenting classes to families experiencing divorce.

Classes are designed to promote successful problem-solving skills, anger management and teach parents to shield their children from parental conflict.

Community Outreach

Speakers provide information and training regarding child abuse prevention, parenting techniques, and community resources.

This outreach is accomplished through various local community fairs, school events, and health fairs.

Additionally, PA regional managers are actively involved in various coalitions and cooperative partnerships in their local areas. These cooperative relationships significantly improve our networking and marketing of our services, consequently, improving out outcomes.
