1. Contact the volunteer coordinator
2. Complete application packet
3. Attend the 3.5 hour orientation & training program
4. Complete background check
5. Wait to be matched
6. Be available to start mentoring
7. Benefit from on-going support from other volunteers & staff

Qualities of a Mentor

• Give your mentee a voice & choice in deciding on activities
• Respect the trust your mentee places in you
• Remember that your relationship is with the youth
